We were pleased to welcome a good number of in-person participants and Zoom attendees for what was a most enjoyable evening.
Attendees in person and via Zoom read a wide range of poems, mostly, given the proximity of the date to Valentine’s Day, on the subject of love — from the familiar to the unexpected, the sacred to the profane, the erotic to the cerebral, the humorous to the passionate to the anguished. We even heard one selected by a computer search engine!
Some highlights were To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell followed by ripostes to that classic by two poets in attendance.
